SYNC Network Components
SYNC Network overview
The SYNC network connects all the computing components and equipment. After installation of the equipment the technician will create a network topology, a map of the network to give you locations of the specifications in place.
During Go Live the Support team will cover this mapping in their training, so team members are aware of the locations and functionality of each element.
Network topology
Below is an example of a network mapping diagram, showing a center with three lanes and one server used as a terminal.
Each component is shown with its connection to the switches and the server, the live internet connection, and the specific locations in the center. The team will be shown where all elements area and how to refer back to this when an issue arises with the network.
Who is the training for?
Allduty/shift managers need to be aware of the network and how the components playa role in the functionality of the system. Within the SYNC Office managementtraining the Support team will show the team how to run a “System Analysis”which outlines any issues in the network, this is then used along side theirknowledge from the Network training to guide them through how to rectify theissue or translate it back to the Support team to offer further support.
Anyonethat attends the Pinsetter training will also be shown the location of thenetwork components, so it would be ideal for them to also understand the above.
